SOUP CAN MAKE YOU THIN!

Slim people eat soup, slim people make soup, slim people regularly choose soup over other meal and snack choices. Why? Because there is nothing like a bowl of soup to nourish, energise, fill you up, create that warm, fuzzy feeling and keep you lean. It is simply the best way of getting maximum nourishment into a fairly small and convenient space and there are so many ways of doing it that you can eat soup daily and shed pounds fast without diet boredom ever being an issue.

We love soup and we want you to love soup too so join us on our ‘soup can make you thin’ journey. We promise that once you get the apron on and the blender out you will never look back!

Jean and Fiona souping it up!

Soup diets promising quick weight loss have been around for years and whilst we applaud the inclusion of soup in any diet we are less than impressed by some of the soup recipes on offer. We can all cope with watery/vegetabley concoctions and a degree of diligence on the chopping, slicing and dicing front for a week or so when we imagine we are going to lose weight and be nothing short of gorgeous on whatever red carpet beckons but ultimately they are no fun and a nourishing, fat-busting bowl becomes a real chore. Where’s the fun in that!

Don’t fall into that trap – soup should always be delicious and that is what we are here to prove! Soup can only make you thin when you enjoy every spoonful and we have worked long and hard to ensure that every one of our soup recipes and recommendations do just that. We want to get you into the kitchen and learn how to create your favourites in super quick time so you always have soup to hand for a fat busting, nourishing snack or meal but we also appreciate that time is often the enemy so we are going to ensure that we arm you with all you need to know about how to select the very best when you are eating out or have to depend on ready-made soups.

  4. Started the SCMYT on Thursday – having protein in evening as described in book – soup breakfast and lunch – working well! I know you say not to weigh but sorry have to – 5 llbs so far – excellent!

  5. I have just purchased your book for my kindle can’t wait to get started when I am back on my feet as I broke my pelvis on the 1st of January.

    • In our experience, some soups really benefit from blending as you will note from the recipes but it is a matter of personal taste – the marriage of flavours still work when the soups are left chunky, if you prefer. We regularly use hand blenders, which we regard as an inexpensive investment when making soups daily to achieve the desired results but it’s really up to you.

  6. Is there anyway you can list the calorie content on the recipes on your website please. I’ve just started the 5:2 diet and stumbled across your website looking for low calorie soup recipes. They sound amazing recipes, however it would be great to know calories per serving.

    Thank you:)

    • Hi Jo. You will note in answer to another query below that I am one of the fast-growing band of nutritionists who don’t endorse calorie counting as the number of calories involved in any dish don’t take into account how the body processes the three different macronutrients; carbohydrates, protein and fat – each one is processed very differently in the body. I have, however had repeated success with dieters when I reduce the starchy carbohydrates in their diet, increase the amount of ‘good’ fat (particularly Omega 3s) and include a reasonable amount of protein in every meal and snack (the Soup Can Make You Thin book explains all this). All our soup recipes fit this brief and where reasonably rapid fat loss is desired, the SuperSkinny and Skinny soup recipes are especially ‘strict’ on this front. The FatBustForever soup recipes are more designed for those who have already reached their fat loss goal plus those who simply love soup but don’t want to pile on the pounds. Hope this helps.
